Buying at auction
- Find a lot Browse current and forthcoming lots and read each one’s details and figures.
- Read the legal pack Review title, searches and conditions; ask your solicitor if you’re unsure.

Register to bid Set up your account and complete ID and funding checks in good time.
- Bid Online, by phone or by proxy, live during the auction.
- Secure the lot On a successful bid you pay the deposit and the sale is secured.
- Complete Finish within the stated timescale; have your funds in place beforehand.
Selling at auction
- Free appraisal We advise on suitability, guide and reserve.
- Prepare Figures verified and the legal pack assembled with your solicitor.
- Market Your lot promoted to active buyers ahead of the sale.
- Auction day Live-streamed bidding to a national audience.
- Completion Sale secured on the hammer, then progressed to completion.
Conditional vs unconditional
Unconditional
Contracts exchange on the fall of the hammer, the deposit is paid, and completion follows within [CONFIRM: completion window] business days. Finance must be in place before you bid.
Conditional (“modern method”)
A reservation fee secures the lot with a longer window to exchange and complete. More accessible, usually more costly. [CONFIRM: reservation terms]
